Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Caribbean Leagues. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.
Here is the rundown of what Indians players in winter ball did yesterday. The Venezuelan Winter and Australian Baseball leagues were off on Tuesday.
Dominican Winter League
- Edward Paredes (RP, Aguilas Cibaenas): 0 IP, 1 BB. Well, Paredes’ appearance was a brief one as he faced only one batter and unfortunately was unable to record an out. In general, walks have been an issue for Paredes this winter as he has now walked 13 batters in 20 2/3 innings of work while only striking out 11. Plain and simple, that type of ratio is not going to cut it in the Major Leagues.
Puerto Rican WInter League
- Rob Bryson (RP, Criollos de Caguas): (L, 0-1), 0.2 IP, 1 R/0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K. Bryson allowed a run in the contest, but it was of the unearned variety, so hi sperfect ERA remains intact. The right-hander entered the contest in 11th inning and proceeded to strikeout the first batter, Angel Sanchez before getting the next batter to ground out. However, Bryson then walked two straight batters, and game unfortunately came to an end after the next batter got on a base thanks to a fielding error by Luis Mateo. The error proved to be the clincher as Juan Silva scored on the play to clinch the win for Indios de Mayaguez and clinch the loss for Bryson.
